Lyraa’s canon relationships with the cast of Three Houses-

Byleth

“Teacher”

Initially, Lyraa is perplexed by Byleth. They are alike in many ways, yet profoundly different. She admires Byleth’s confidence and strength, aspiring to carry herself with the same quiet certainty. Around them, Lyraa feels comfortable asking questions and expressing herself without fear of judgment or ridicule. When Jeralt dies, Lyraa becomes deeply concerned for Byleth, though she is uncertain how best to support them through their grief. Later, during the Imperial invasion, Byleth’s defeat causes Lyraa to lose faith. After the Death Knight reflects her spell back at her, causing long lasting damage, Lyraa panics and flees the battlefield. Lyraa is astonished to discover that Byleth survived the five year timeskip. After rekindling their friendship, she follows Byleth loyally in the war against the Empire, helping secure victory. Her trust in Byleth becomes unwavering, and she is willing to fight for them without hesitation. During peace time, Lyraa steps down from her duties to focus building her honey bee farm with Ferdinand. Despite their busy lives, Byleth often visits whenever they can, enjoying the honey Lyraa proudly produces.

Linhardt

“Mr Lazybones”

Linhardt is the first person at the Academy Lyraa feels truly comfortable around, finding his blunt honesty refreshing and trustworthy. Despite this, she initially sees him as lazy and unreliable, often frustrated by his lack of effort and constant tardiness. The two frequently exchange snarky remarks and occasionally clash, but their conversations are engaging enough that neither takes the other’s insults too seriously. Lyraa is not afraid to openly call Linhardt out on his behaviour, and after his carelessness leads to her getting hurt during the mock battle, Linhardt genuinely apologises and begins putting more effort into helping others. Both Lyraa and Linhardt share a curiosity for unconventional applications of magic and enjoy experimenting with new ideas alongside Lysithea, despite her insistence that many of their projects are pointless wastes of time. Their shared creativity and willingness to think outside the box strengthens their friendship. After the time skip and upon Byleth’s return, Linhardt is one of the few students willing to defect from the Empire, greatly impressing Lyraa. The two quickly return to their familiar friendship and playful bickering as they fight together against the Empire, reclaiming friends such as Lysithea and Ferdinand as they go. When Lyraa realises Linhardt has feelings for Lysithea, she encourages him to confess. After the war, she helps Linhardt and Lysithea research a cure for Lysithea’s condition, and later attends their wedding alongside Ferdinand. In peace time, Lyraa and Linhardt continue meeting regularly to discuss magical research, inventions, and new applications for their spells.

Ferdinand

“The Noble Melon” / “Ferdie Birdie”

At first, Lyraa does not recognise Ferdinand, despite meeting him years earlier during the Great Drought of ’69. Distrustful of nobles and unsettled by his overly friendly attitude, Lyraa initially dislikes him, while Ferdinand’s persistence only confuses and irritates her. When Lyraa considers leaving the Academy because she cannot bear the thought of killing others, Ferdinand and Byleth convince her to stay. She becomes Ferdinand’s adjutant, supporting him with healing and defensive magic. Lyraa found Ferdinand overconfident and reckless, and he struggled with her blunt and stubborn personality, but gradually they grow closer. Over time, Ferdinand’s endless optimism begins to charm Lyraa rather than annoy her and whilst she would never admit it, she begins to view him as her sun. They drink tea together, and bond over their shared appreciation for nature and animals. Unknown to Lyraa, Ferdinand begins to develop feelings for her, growing quietly jealous whenever other men, especially Balthus, spend time with her. To Lyraa, Ferdinand becomes her safest and most trusted companion. After repeated failed encounters with the Death Knight, they vow to personally take him down. During the fall of Garreg Mach, Ferdinand is struck down, causing a panicked Lyraa to unleash an experimental dark spell that backfires and permanently damages her body. Believing the battle lost, she flees back to Danu, leaving Ferdinand convinced she died. After the time skip, Lyraa is devastated to learn Ferdinand joined the Empire. When they meet again at the Great Bridge of Myrddin, Ferdinand immediately surrenders, refusing to fight her. At first, Lyraa distrusts him for siding with the Empire, while Ferdinand is hurt she abandoned him years ago, but the two quickly reconnect as they fight alongside each other once more. Despite the war, Lyraa really opens up to her friends but especially Ferdinand, sharing her eccentricities and quirky personality with him which helps Ferdinand rediscover the warmth and idealism he had lost, his drive to create a better Fódlan returning. When Ferdinand confesses his love for her, Lyraa is overwhelmed and asks him to wait until she is ready, and he gladly agrees. Ferdinand is fiercely protective of Lyraa, and loves her deeply. Lyraa gets embarrassed by his grand expressions of affection but deep down she enjoys them, gradually accepting his love. After they defeat the Death Knight, Edelgard, and the Agarthans, they help to rebuild Fódlan. Ferdinand becomes Duke Aegir, while he and Lyraa create the Silver Cap Nature Reserve and Lyraa’s honey bee farm. Later, the two marry and settle into peacetime together. Lyraa enjoys the trinkets Ferdinand brings back for her when on his work trips.
